SERVICES/TREATMENT

                 What to expect

Physiotherapy is a science based profession

and takes an holistic approach to health and wellbeing which includes your general lifestyle.

At the core is involving you in your own care through education, awareness,

empowerment and participation.

Your first appointment will last up to 45 minutes and will involve a comprehensive discussion of your condition and what you hope to achieve from physiotherapy. A physical assessment will then be carried out to enable us to provide you with a diagnosis and also a treatment plan.

Your treatment plan will likely include advice on techniques we can use in clinic e.g. manual therapy, acupuncture and mobilisation, and possibly a home exercise regime.

ORTHOTICS

We are very fortunate in being able to provide an orthotic service through our orthotist ,

John Anderson. Orthotists are registered healthcare professionals, who specialise in the assessment of the whole body for biomechanical problems and if appropriate may prescribe, measure, fit, or review, an Orthosis.

An Orthosis is an externally applied device. It may also be called a ‘brace’, or ‘splint’. Therapeutic footwear may also be used as an Orthosis.

The purpose and design of an Orthosis may change over time along with the changing needs of the patient.

Our Treatments include :-

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a clinical approach that uses therapeutic touch or different hands-on techniques to reduce pain, increase the range of motion, and reduce or eliminate soft tissue inflammation.

Acupuncture

this ancient art of healing originated in China and has become widely accepted throughout the Western world. It is a natural therapy with many benefits.

Massage

involves a manual application of pressure and movement to soft body tissues. It is believed to increase blood circulation and flow of lymph helping the body to heal itself.
